FALL CALENDAR OF LECTURES & EVENTS
2010- THE YEAR OF THE ALPACAS!
Fall is such a great
time to be outdoors and enjoy making your home and gardens
more beautiful. Each weekend we have something special going
on to help you save, learn, and enjoy. Catch Duncan Kelbaugh's
three lectures this fall, Sept 11th & 18th, and Oct. 9th,
all at 10am, rain or shine.
Sept 4th
Labour Day Weekend- We'll keep you busy spreading mulch!!
Bulk mulch, topsoil, and compost, picked up by the yard, 20%
off. (delivery, Sept 8th is extra). In store specials on all
bagged products too.
Sept 11th Wiggly Weekend: Actually,
it's Weigela Weekend, pronounced (Why-gee-la). Six varieties
of this beautiful flowering shrub on for HALF PRICE ! Lecture
10am: Wonderful World of Weigelas: How to plant, prune, (and
pronounce!) them. Varieties, flowers and foliage, wintering,
etc.

Lecture 10am: Fall Gardening and Winter Preparation: Bulb
planting, perennial dividing & care, pruning, bed maintenance,
leaf composting, vegetable gardens, winter preparation, etc
Sept 25th
Flower Fest for Hummingbirds & Butterflies: Several
kinds of flowering shrubs and Perennials that hummers and
butterflies love: Butterflybush, clematis, and several more,

Oct 2nd

: Special 2-hour pruning clinic (10am-noon): Duncan will demonstrate
his thinning pruning technique on many kinds of evergreens
and flowering shrubs around the property, which allows you
to prune all species anytime you want, controlling size and
shape while keeping the natural appearance.
Oct 16th
: HALLOWEEN Fun Day! A Spooky version of Field Day!! 10am:
Coin hunt on the Nature Trail. Face painting. 11:30: Hot dog/hamburger
BBQ. Tractor Rides. The Nature Trail is now a spook trail!
Dunc's Birthday Cake for all who come.
