Fall is such a great time to be outdoors
and enjoy making your home and gardens more beautiful. Each
weekend we have something special going on to help you save,
learn, and enjoy.
Sept 3rd Labour Day
Weekend- Mulch-Maple-Madness: 25% off Mulch (all kinds)

Sept 10th 10am Lecture: Stump the Experts! Fall Gardening
Q&A with Duncan Kelbaugh and Peter Kinsella: pruning,
perennials, ponds, veggies, compost, deer, winterizing gardens,
whatever you want to know, just try us!
Sept 17th & 18th,
Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm: Fall Decoration Workshop:
Bring your containers, we'll have cattails, cornstalks, straw,
pumpkins, mums, and other fall decorating materials for sale
to fill them with. Free advice and coaching from our expert
staff. Rain or shine (in the greenhouse)
Sept 24th 10am Lecture:
Build your own Patio or Walkway: Base preparation,
compacting, drainage, steps, patterns, stone & paver types,
cutting pavers, etc.
Oct 1st 10am Lecture:
Fall Gardening with Dick Chiswell: Make great compost
from your leaves, putting your garden to rest for winter,
cover cropping, vegetable storage, etc.
Oct 8th 10am PUMPKIN
CARVING CONTEST: Watch Duncan carve Halloween Hannah.
Buy a pumpkin, get great advice and ideas, then carve your
own. Kids and grown-ups can all enter. Take it home or enter
it in your age class to win tree and shrub prizes. Carvers
do their thing anytime 10-4pm. Judging and prizes awarded
at 4pm.
Oct 15th : (10am-noon):
Special 2-hour Pruning Clinic Duncan will demonstrate
his thinning pruning technique on many kinds of evergreens
and flowering shrubs around the property, which allows you
to prune all species anytime you want, controlling size and
shape while keeping the natural appearance. Dunc's Birthday
Cake for all who come.
Oct 22nd : HALLOWEEN
Fun Day! A Spooky version of Field Day!! 10am: Coin
hunt on the Nature Trail. Face painting. 11:30: Hot dog/hamburger
BBQ. Tractor Rides (with the huge new Kubota Tractor!). The
Nature Trail is now a spook trail! Kids- Wear your costume,
win a prize!
Garden Centre open 7 days a week, 9am-7pm,
closing Sunday, Oct. 30th
